We're proud to share a recap of our participation in the World Mental Health Day event held in Domboshava on October 17th! ๐
โThe day was anchored by the powerful theme: "Access to Services โ Mental Health in Catastrophes and Emergencies," highlighting the critical need for mental health support during crises.
โOur objectives were clear: to reduce stigma, promote understanding, encourage community action, and raise awareness about conditions like depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. We also successfully networked with key mental health partners.
โKey highlights of our community engagement:
โ Emphasizing Self-Care: Encouraging relaxation and stress-reduction practices like meditation and yoga.
โ โEducating Residents: Sharing vital information on mental health conditions and treatment options.
โAdvocating for Change: Promoting policies that improve access to mental health services.
โ โSharing Testimonies: Hearing powerful stories from patients to help reduce stigma and encourage others to seek support.
โMental health support is non-negotiable, especially in times of emergency. Thank you to the Domboshava community for being open to the conversation!
